It’s that time of the year again where the Philippine fashion industry is as busy as ever in preparation for this event.

Here’s how I ended that busy Wednesday. After being awake at 7 in the morning for a shoot for SWAP STRAPS c/o Ina Ramos, following our visit with the Music Label at Warner for Jensen Gomez, My Midterm Exam, I was already tired as hell but we just had to watch PFW at 9:30 pm at SMX Convention Center.
Photos are a bit crappy, though it was so tempting to stand with the press & media people to get a better shot. 50mm wasn’t such a good idea.

The collection was elegant, classy and feminine. It was dominated with neutrals; blacks, white, silvers and golds. It was sophisticated, so fit for fashionable working women.

GERRY KATIGBAK
Can I just say that this was my favorite collection? It’s not only because he is our professor in school but it was so stunning and impressive! The moment the models made their entrance I could the rush of energy going through the runway, As his students, it was very inspiring for us to watch his show. I remember how he was talking about his collection way back last term that it was filled with stripes and indeed it was. The collection was so inspired. I loved the color blocking, it was definitely for our generation. I also enjoyed the accessories he used; the vibrant feather ear rings and the Turbans; it was definitely up to date and trendy.
The following day I just had to tell Sir Gerry how much I enjoyed the show; plus the music he used; Rise by Samantha James definitely made such a big impact. The collection was simple, yet it all looked so stunning because of the styling and the execution done.
Our batchmate Ace De Guzman also had a few of his shoe designs on this show. I will be doing a separate blog post on that after this!

JUN JUN CAMBRE
Of the three collections for this show tonight, I think it was this one that had the most work incorporated in them. Cambre’s collection was Asian Inspired, saw much of Singapore’s culture in them. The show was interesting and inspired.
