“Tell me what the point was then, Bella! What was the point of me loving you? What was the point of you loving him? When you die, how is that ever right again? What’s the point to all the pain? Mine, yours, his! You’ll kill him, too, not that I care about that. So what was the point of your twisted love story, in the end? If there is anysense, please show me, Bella, because I don’t see it.”
Jacob Black, Breaking Dawn, Chapter 10, p.189
Can I just say how much it sucks to be Jacob Black? That the sole person you are in love with is already married with your vampire enemy. And still, he chooses to be there for Bella; he followed to the wedding, danced with her in her wedding dress, stood there beside her while she was getting weaker by the minute because of her life-threatening pregnancy, left his wolf-coven to protect her, put his life on the line & sided with the vampires all for her. For me, that there is true and unconditional love right there. Do we even know how much that hurt that was on his part to just watch her slip away like that because there was nothing more he could do? Yet he was still there no matter how much pain it brought him to watch everything; from her getting married, to her getting really sick and until she lost her life. I was really moved by Jacob’s character, he’s my favourite. He is self-less & heroic.
