Never did I know that getting on that plane for the summer meant that nothing will ever be the same again. Had I only known, or atleast seen this coming, I guess things would have gone in a better direction.

Anyway, Here’s a track I picked up a few days ago, its called Float by Ko Ko. Another indie track to keep me relaxed during stress work.

I’d like to take a few lines from one of my favorite movies to speak for what I can’t.

Today marks a profound and bittersweet milestone for all of us, as we bear witness to both an end and a beginning. And while we must continue on, we must also be grateful to have been blessed with someone who has so ably guided us to where we are today. When there has been so much love and happiness for someone, it is natural to be reluctant to close such a wonderful chapter in our lives, for moving forward is rarely accomplished without considerable grief and sadness. And while our sorrow may be profound, the clouds will clear, and the sun will shine on us again. And in that warm, bright light we will find ourselves facing a glorious future. A future of exciting challenges and infinite possibilities, in which the horizon will stretch out before us, trimmed in the heavenly glow of the sunrise of our tomorrow. -The Prince & Me

IMG_4631.JPG_effected

Either way, I still continue to move forward with my life. Frankly I am mixed with emotions of both excitement and fear for the uncertainty ahead which I am about to face. Still, my mind and body continues with it’s busy work and my schedule is already getting packed up with nearing gigs, school, meetings, events, etc.

Later this evening, a few old friends picked me & Chesca up, unexpectedly and brought us to Fort at Relik for a few drinks. It’s been a while since I did these random night get away and it actually feels good again. Thanks to Arvin, Gelo, Dante, Paolo and Thea, because I think its about time I start giving myself a little break.

So long very sweet summer and here I am opening the last book of my college life. Summer just flew by so fast, things I was hoping to find were never found. I guess thats why Im so bitter with this beginning. Quite honestly I’m not even the slightest bit excited for this yet because of certain reasons.

Here’s another song I added to my “feel good” playlist which I got from Gossip Girl’s soundtrack. I’ve been watching Gossip Girl Episodes from Season 3 to 4 all summer and I’ve found tracks I really dig. Here’s one of them.

Another One Down by Asher Roth Feat. D.A. Wallach

040503 00

Over the summer, I’ve been setting this goal for me to find myself with deep-self thinking and reflection. There are things that really need time. I wanted to set my goals straight and find myself during the summer, both, unfortunately, unattained. Though clearly, I can never stop being thankful for the amazing time I had with my family, I’ll really miss them all over again.

Either way, I’ll just take a deep breath, accept reality as it is, I’m back in Manila, missing home and family more than ever and my Senior Year in college has just begun.

IMG_4629

First class today was Draping 3, we had to draft three gowns inspired by Victoria’s Secret and we have to use “jeepney basahans” as a materials of this project. This should be a challenge, what a great opening to begin this year with.

The well-known Bascon Cafe brings you  27th Bascon, their newest venture  still located at Lacson Street, Bacolod City, just across the cafe on 27th street. I was pretty impressed with the interior because it was a fusion of the modern Filipino Atmosphere with traditional elements.

IMG_3639-2

IMG_3653

As I said, I loved how designs of this place blend modern and traditional. The Function room on the second floor is designed with wooden windows and capiz shells, the one’s you can see in historical Filipino Houses.

IMG_3644

Mom brought us here for lunch for Elle’s 16th. Yes, Happy Birthday to my one and only sister today! Can’t believe you are 16 now and if its my last year in college, this is her last year in Highschool too.

IMG_3663IMG_3686IMG_3673IMG_3677IMG_3681

Unlike the cafe, which is known for their tasty pastries & cakes, 27th Bascon focuses on serving you full, appetizing meals that bring you the comfort of well-loved home recipes of the island in modern cooking.

My taste buds have been craving for those lutong-bahay recipes especially those that bring me that Negrense Flavor because truthfully, facing fast food chains and those complex restaurants in Manila make me miss the fuss-free cooking of Bacolod. 27th Bascon was the perfect place.

Picking through the menu just confused me since it served almost all my favorite meals and they had a wide variety of choices. But the moment I saw Sinigang on the menu, I just had to take it.

What we had for lunchGrilled Chicken & Pomelo Salad, Chicken Relleno, Mango Shake, Salmon Sinigang, and Rice was unlimited served from a native basket with banana leaves which gave that Filipino-home feel.

IMG_3661IMG_3691IMG_3696IMG_3704IMG_3715IMG_3714

After that, you’ll definitely want sweets to fully finish that awesome dinning experience and Bascon Cafe is just across, so why not walk there?

For Dessert: Bannoffee Pie & Blueberry Cheescake

Thank You Tita Marili Gonzaga and to your dad, Tito Dodong Bascon for accommodating us very well!

Questions?

January 7, 2012

It was in the middle of the evening when two of my close friends really wanted new profile pictures and they just had to ask me for a shoot and so yeah this is what I gave them. Kim and I were down south at Alabang with Janine. Im glad we finally found time to do this because this hang out has been long over due because of everyone’s busy schedules. I really missed these two, and it feels good to be back here with them again.

Anyway, Here’s part one featuring Kim. I normally don’t do fantasy and very girly shoots like this, here’s my first time actually. It really fits Kim’s personality.

Welcome 2012! Here’s my first look post for the year. This is what I actually wore to school yesterday.

Tip #1: An important key element to bohemian dressing is colors. Typical colors are rich and warm in color mostly on brown, khaki, olive green cream white but adding pops of bright colors such as hot pink, turquoise will definitely add more character to your outfit.

Jeans from Forever 21, Knitted Cardigan from Topshop, Tribal Printed Top from Forever 21.

03

Tip #2: Hair style adds edge. A simple one sided braid or a thin hippie band adds style. Focus on the little details, they make a big difference.

010

Tip #3Bright Colored Sunglasses can brighten up any outfit so just be sure to pick out a color that compliments your skin tone.

Sunglasses from Forever 21. And I got them for just P99. I had to purchase three pairs.

05

Tip # 4: Wooden pieces make good bohemian accessories. You don’t  have to splurge so much on accessories, most of these can be found at local shops especially when you are travelling around the country. You can find these made by natives, it’s very Filipino.

I actually got this from my grandma, it’s surprising how much necklaces I’ve received from her personal collection. These are the little things that make it more meaningful.

06

Tip # 5: Experiment and Experiment with the pieces found in your closet. Your pieces of clothing may not need to have that boho classification at first, but because it is about how you wear them and how each piece cooperates with the rest to achieve that over all bohemian look

07

Tip #6: Invest in Shoes that are versatile yet stylish that can go on for seasons and match with multiple looks.

These are the most comfortable pairs of heels I have because they’re soft to walk in.

First of all, Happy Holiday’s everyone! It’s good to finally have time for blogging again since I postponed all blogging activities ever since December began because I had to focus on working on our tedious finals. It was no joke. Anyway, here’s what me and my sister did today; we semi turned our out-of-town backyard into a forest shoot.

Before anything else, HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone! Thanks to my sister for taking the photos here, it’s the first time we actually shot in the backyard. It’s giving this entire forest/woods feel which totally excites me. Doesn’t even look like it was shot here in the Philippines, I love the feel; it makes me feel fall or autumn. It’s legit.

Truthfully its rare that you find fashion bloggers blogging about hardcore rock gigs. I’m one of those rare ones.

The moment you start to hear music that is strong enough to distort your necks with the sound of their instruments, yes, it isCURBSIDE PHCongratulations to this Metal Rock Band for tonight they are launching their second Extended Playlist, I just had to purchase myself a copy.

I’ve grown to know each of them through out the year, More I’ve grown close to Chase, their drummer, and I can tell him just about almost anything. To Migs, Chase, Russ, Niko & Brent, congratulations! Watching you guys move so synchronized with your music is just as dynamically amazing.

I can never find the right words to justify how legit their music is. As always, I stand up front nod my head, scream, jump, and get lost to rock and roll. It’s always such a high form of release. And just like previous Curbside performances, I stand beside my head banging buddy, Ling Lava of Lions & Acrobats.

Last December 2010 was the first ever gig I attended, and it was also Curbside’s 1st  EP launch and now Im back here and their music just got even better. Curbside playing live is just so orgasmic to the ears.

It’s been a long day, been a little stretched due to the ups and downs. Course Card Distribution during the morning, then we had to prepare the 8th floor for our FDM Christmas Party, then we had it till 7 in the evening. Since we didn’t want to end our day so short, Veronica, Ed, Lua & I drove around Malate in the hopes of finding a Comedy Bar. We didn’t find one, even around Roxas Boulevard area, so we just ended up having dinner at Mister Kebab. Then I’m here at Guijo.

This was my last night in Manila and I’m ending this awesome year here at this gig. Glad one of my closest friends, Migs Ferreras, was also there. This night and day has been a bit heavy on a specific aspect due to certain circumstances that led to certain situations. But all is ok now, so thank you everyone for awesome 2011!

I know it’s finals week but I just had to be here for Rock The Riles; this is just the coolest idea for a gig because bands will be playing in every station of the EDSA MRT and this only happens once a year!

Can’t believe I’m back here at Buendia Station EDSA MRT for this year’s Rock The Riles! Last year I was also in this exact station waiting for Goodmorning High Fives to Perform with Marco & Kim but this year, we’re performing!

Hands down to my kids, Jensen Gomez & Archievals for another gig where you guys performed your hearts out. Please don’t LIKE them on facebook! IMG_8405.JPG_effected

Thanks to Charles for arranging this for us! Here’s the set list for this station, CSB bands are up first.

Jensen picked me & Sir Nestor up at Taft as early as 9am. If I recall, I wasn’t in such a good state, something was bothering my mind but I just had to get the hell out and continue on with my day. Thankfully being here loosen up my tension.

IMG_8420.JPG_effected

We got our own ID’s which enabled us easy access into the station, and yes, FREE MRT rides for the entire day. How cool is that?

IMG_8424.JPG_effected

Rock the Riles is also for a good cause as you can see on this poster. Our station was apparently VS. HIV/AIDS. Our names are right there under Buendia Station. Sadly, our other band, Sleep is The Enemy couldn’t make it for today due to school work such as Fico’s thesis. Understandable, I should infact be at home doing projects, but I can’t at this hour, I’d rather be here. I have enough time later.

LADY RANSOM was up first! These guys really rock out, they always give me that release just by watching them. Guitarists Jake Soriano & Ling Lava are friends of mine as well as lead vocalist, Bryan Dacanay. Please like LADY RANSOM on Facebook!

ARCHIEVALS

The last time I saw them perform live was at Route 196 about a month ago, back then we had several things to work on with their performance. Sir Nestor and I were very impressed with their performance today; they improved so much on their stage presence. Stage Chemistry between the boys was streaming already and it was infact good to look at them as a whole because not only their music coordinated with one another but they were feeling each other’s presence. Jensen was also impressed as well. They learned from their big brother, great job Archies1 Please LIKE  Archievals on facebook!

It was good having GoGo around. Not only is he such a good bassist but his personality itself was pleasing. He’s one of those people that can calm a scene down just by his presence, he’s so chill and easy to get along with.

IMG_8453.JPG_effected

Finally, The JENSEN GOMEZ

People really like to call him the John Mayer of CSB. I can say, he’s also like The Script, lyrics wise talking. But Jensen is Jensen, don’t want to compare him so much to any artist. Maybe he’s called as such because of his ability to sing just about anything he feels. He’s not afraid to sing his heart out about heartbreaks and his vulnerable side, and for me that’s what really matters. Im proud of this kid, really I am. He’s gone a long way with his music ever since the first time I heard his acoustic tracks and now he’s going on full band. He never fails to call the crowd’s attention to listen to his music.

Thank You Mel, Charles & Gogo for sessioning in!

And here is HARLEQUIN CARNIVALE, another band from CSB. First Time Im hearing them live. I was so curious for their genre, and the moment they started to play, I was in awe. It was solid rock shizz! Hardcore instruments and the vocals were as legit as well. Another band I’m keeping track with.

LOVE. SAX & MUSIC.  This band really did awesome legit covers of some of our favorites such as Sunday Morning by Maroon5 and how can we all forget when they covered John Mayer’s Gravity? Jensen really stay in tuned for that, it was good music.

IMG_8500.JPG_effected

So once all our sets were done, we decided to head to AYALA Station where the bigger bands were. Free MRT ride thanks to these ID’s. And why is everyone in grey scale? I guess we all think a like.

IMG_8502.JPG_effected

Me & My Kids. Im really proud to be called your Mama, once again, as always, the only girl, but I never felt safer. They really made sure I was safe and put me between all of them during the MRT ride. Next time we need a complete photo with Sleep is The Enemy

Congratulations to Charles! First time to ride the MRT today!

When we got to Ayala Station, the gig was a bit delayed. Finally decided to hear mass at Greenbelt like I’d usually do on sundays. Thank You Archies for accompanying me and hearing mass as well. Gave me a good bonding time with Migo, Mitch, Mike & Justin. We got to talk and right after mass, Migo treated us to Gelatismo for the awesome performance. Thanks again guys!

Once again, this was a good sunday. Thank You Jensen, Sir Nestor, Migo, Justin and everyone else! This made me feel a whole lot better.

Finding trendy items are easy; they go with the season. But what you need to keep in your closet all year around are your CORE ITEMS.

CORE ITEMS consist of basic pieces that are easy to match and are very essential in building your BASIC WARDROBE.

I’ll be sharing with you my first set of Core Items every girl needs in her closet. I decided start writing fashion-related articles, to expound the content of my blog. Follow me on twitter.com/andreajavelosa

01. A good pair of SKINNY JEANS. They basically are for multi-use; they are flexible and can almost be worn anytime, anywhere.

02. PLAIN COLORED T-SHIRTS. I would specifically recommend WHITE, BLACK & a color of your choice.

03. PLAIN SLEEVELESS SHIRTS. They are versatile and would look great with any kind of jacket, cardigan or bottoms.

04. DENIM SHORTS. They are like skinny jeans, only SEXIER.

05. JACKETS & CARDIGANS. I would recommend blacks or whites; not too plain or too trendy. They are for multi-use; both for fashion and protection on cold weather. Who says you can’t look good and be practical at the same time?

06-09: When it comes to shoes, there would be THREE basic pairs every girl needs in her closet: plain black FLATS, BOOTS & PUMPS.

SO here you go, I put together these Basic outfits and here’s the result, doesn’t look so plain and boring anymore, right?

Rule #1: Don’t forget to accessorize; with necklaces, bracelets and even bags. They can instantly add that extra factor to your outfit. They make a difference! These small details are as essential as the clothes you wear.

Rule #2: Wear them with confidence. Remember, its always important you feel comfortable in what you are wearing.

Rule #3: Don’t hesitate when experimenting with different variations. You’ll be surprised with the many variations you can create, though sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error moments. Patience is a key!

If you look at these outfits clearly, they are consist of very basic and simple items. When you play with them and accessorize the right way, the outcome is always superb!

I woke up with the sun shining perfectly onto my face, and this day couldn’t get any better than spending it with my favorite people just like every other wednesday this term. Lee had his shoot for his DIGIPHO class, here are some BTS photos we did. I love the fact that we’re all Art Students, we’re not your typical college kids.

Photos by Adam, http://dumders.tumblr.com

Here’s our ever so talented photographer, Lee Caces:

Check out the hair.

And here is the super fail “chest bump” Lee & Mac did. That’s obviously a different kind of bump. That very hilarious & EPIC moment when non of us could stop laughing. This was too gay.

Obviously, my two favorite boys; Sir & Sir. Well, thats how they call each other.

Mac & Me. This is currently my twitter thumbnail, It’s my favorite photo now. :)

When you came you were like, sunshine through my window, that’s what you are.“

I borrowed his cap, while he wore my beanie & wayfarers. I was The Swag for a moment, and he really pulled off my look. I find this photo funny and cute in a way.

And here is BOGS; another talented photographer, i love these photos; they’re so hipster. He wore Mac’s cap & my sunglasses.

All of us had a really late lunch at KFC afterwards.

Yeah, and I’ve been sleepless, I’m a bit disorganized, i think I looked like shit today, and Im really out of shape; my stomach looks like I’m 2 months pregnant of fat, but yeah, whatever :)

You gotta love wednesdays. I love these guys; their the most amazing bunch of friends I could ever have. Till next wednesday again :)

Sheer Lace Top, White Tube, Jeans, Platforms, Hippie Headband

One of my favorites, simple yet stylish enough. If Im not in black, I’d still be playing neutrals. I like how turquoise pops from all the whites.
